About Edelstahlrahmen
Frames for galleries, collectors and your home.
Edelstahlrahmen was born from a fascination with materiality, proportion, and the timeless dialogue between stainless steel and wood.
I am Vera Hermann, architect and interior designer based in Munich. For many years, I have worked closely with interiors and the way materials shape atmosphere and emotion within a space.
The worlds of Art Deco and early Modernism have been particularly influential to me — periods in which stainless steel, dark woods and refined detailing created a remarkable balance between elegance and restraint.
Time spent in Milan and Paris, alongside a continuing curiosity for architecture, craftsmanship and interiors, further shaped this perspective and deepened my appreciation for timeless design.
Today, stainless steel feels increasingly relevant again. Not cold or purely technical, but elegant, precise and — when combined with wood — unexpectedly warm and tactile.
This dialogue between Art Deco and Modernism became the starting point for rethinking the picture frame.
Because a frame is more than an object surrounding an image. It gives artwork presence, preserves memories and becomes part of a room — much like a piece of furniture or an architectural detail.
Our frames combine brushed stainless steel with fine wooden profiles and are crafted in Munich in collaboration with selected craft ateliers and makers. We are proud to work alongside one of Germany’s most respected framing ateliers, known for exceptional craftsmanship and a long-standing dedication to fine framing.
Each frame is created with precision, longevity and refined detailing in mind — designed to accompany artworks, photography and personal pieces with quiet elegance.
edelstahlrahmen.com was created to make this level of craftsmanship and materiality more accessible — bringing together stainless steel, wood and timeless design in frames with character.
